When it comes to long-standing rivalries in cricket, the Australia-New Zealand test series is the most anticipated cricket games that everyone wants to see. This time, the event will be held at the prestigious Brisbane Cricket Ground from December 1-3, 2011. Known simply as ‘The Gabba,’ many memorable matches were made on this ground and legends were born from the likes of the iconic Donald Bradman to the equally talented Shane Warne. This inter-Tasman rivalry will be part of the colourful history of both countries’ favourite sport. In their previous encounter, Australia had a resounding seven-wicket win over New Zealand at the Vidarba Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur, India during the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. As a chance to get back at the Aussies, the Black Caps are planning to win one in Brisbane. Michael Clarke, Cameron White, and Shane Watson will lead the home team against the talented Kiwi side of team captain Ross Taylor and coach John Wright. It will be a fully loaded three-day series so it would be advisable to get your last minute ticket deals as early as possible.
There are tickets available for other events, as the competing teams will be introduced at the Official Vodafone Test Match Luncheon at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on November 29. There are cheap air ticket deals for those cricket fans outside of Queensland. It would be your chance to see your favourite cricket superstars up close and perhaps ask a couple of questions.
Day One
The first day of the Vodafone Test Series begins with a 4BC Queensland Cricket Test Match Breakfast at The Gabba’s Legends Room. Know what the players think about the game and learn what their strategies and game plan. Some seats are reserved for BCG members and their guests so make sure to book your tickets as early as possible.
Day Two
Find the best ticket deals so that you can have a good meal at the Legends Room prior to the second test match. Whatever the result of the first match, the second meeting between Australia and New Zealand would be a much challenging and competitive game than the day before. If you prefer a good seating with great vantage view of the action and get all pampered with concierge services then you may have to choose platinum membership.
Day Three
The series would not be complete without a third match. Besides, both teams need a rubber match in case Australia and New Zealand drew or take one of the matches. Check out for a five-day pass if you want to watch Australia-India match at the WACA Ground in Perth too! Make sure to look for last minute plane ticket deals.
If you’re expecting Mike Hussey and Brad Haddin to score centuries, you might as well see them at the game. It would be much better than watching it on television. Get your tickets now!
